FAQ’s

What class do I take?

A: If you are a healthcare provider or want to work in healthcare, a BLS certification will be required. If you are a non-healthcare professional, or a member of the public interested in CPR courses, a Heartsaver® course would be appropriate.

Where do I go to take my class?

A: We provide on-site training for individuals, groups, and companies. We can come to your place of work such as a business, warehouse, school, or church.

We offer in-person classes in our classroom, accessible through our scheduling services. Your course registration will include the location of your course.

What gives me my certification, and how long does my certification last?

A: All certifications come from the American Heart Association (AHA). This way, standards can be nationally regulated and identical across the country. With any course you take with us at MedCert Solutions, all certifications are valid for 2 years following the issued date.

How will I get my certification?

A: Your certification will come via email from the AHA. Look for an email sent from [email protected]

How long will it take to get my certification?

A: Expect a waiting period of 2-3 weeks to receive your AHA certification card through email.

Can I take a class without getting a certification?

A: All BLS and Heartsaver courses require skills testing for certification. BLS certification requires an additional mandatory written test, where the student must score 84% or higher to pass. An optional test can be taken for Heartsaver courses; however, it is not mandatory.

What is a Heartsaver® course?

A: Heartsaver® is a registered name the American Heart Association gives to all their courses provided for non-healthcare professionals and community members. It is subdivided into CPR/AED courses, First Aid courses, and CPR/AED and First Aid courses.

What do I need for this course?

A: All BLS courses require a student workbook per student attending the class. All Heartsaver® courses have optional student workbooks that you are highly encouraged to bring to class with you. We recommend the Heartsaver® course workbook if you plan on receiving a Heartsaver® certification. All course requirements are listed in the course description in our classes offered page for the specific course you want to take.

Why can’t I sign up for a class sooner than three weeks?

A: We schedule our courses three weeks out to give students ample time to prepare for their course and receive pre-course material

What about groups?

A: For groups or businesses of 5+ individuals, we will work with your representative one-on-one to create an individualized quote to ensure you receive the best possible rate and all specific needs can be met.

We will work with you to find a date and time that best suits your needs.

You can begin this process by contacting us by phone or email.

What is your area of service?

A: We are located in Birmingham, Alabama, but we travel to your location for training.

Depending on your distance to us, there will be a varying travel fee to accommodate travel expenses.

We travel throughout the state of Alabama.
